Hi Courtenay, It is not needed, it was more so to illustrate for those newer to CSS a hierarchy. For instance, ID elements should only be used to identify unique items once in a page, whereas class items are to be assigned to multiple elements in a page.

You can identify parent/child relationships by utilizing the hierarchy. For instance if you use a
tag in both a #Header & #Content identified element, you can assign attributes in many ways in your style sheet.

Assign attributes to all
elements:
h2{font-size:1.5em; color:#000;}

Make the color of
tags used in the header red (will still retain font size of 1.5em unless otherwise declared different):
#Header h2{color:#660000;}

Change the fontsize of all
tags in the Content element:
#Content h2{font-size:1.1em;}

Does that help? Or at least answer your question?

should be

On the item on css positioning, I don't see why you preceded each style with
#Header. The 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th don't seem to need it. Can you clarify this?

Thanks
